Agartala is well connected to other major cities of the country via regular flights. Airports: Agartala Airport

Reaching Agartala by Road

Agartala is connected to the rest of India through National Highway 8 (NH-8), now renumbered as NH-44. Interstate bus services operate regularly from nearby states. Personal vehicles and long-distance coaches provide a relatively comfortable journey to Agartala.

 

Reaching Agartala by Train

The Agartala Railway station is about 5.5 km from the city. To travel to Agartala by a train, one has to break the journey from Guwahati onwards. First one has to take a broad gauge train from Guwahati to reach Lumding. From Lumding, there is an overnight express for Agartala. The other alternative route is to take a direct train from Silchar in south Assam.
